A major exhibition of public transport brought together over 40 vintage vehicles on the Day of the City - a festival that takes place in Moscow early September.. For the first time the exhibition took place in the premises of ground transport operator GUP "Mosgortrans», at the bus and trolleybus Depot "Filevskiy Park".
Legendary buses, trucks and cars were presented. The one could see sanitary bus LiAZ-677М and two "Ikarus". All exhibits were open for the public. An entertainment program and a concert followed the event.
"In honor of city day, we decided to invite everyone to our own house and show retro vehicles in the grounds of the transport company. City residents were enthusiastic about this format being able to participate in field trips, communicate with depot staff and, of course to ask experts about the exhibits. About 20 thousand inhabitants and guests of the capital visited the exhibition. We appreciate the interest of Muscovites to the living history of the Moscow transport and cultural heritage of the city. We congratulate all with the 870th anniversary of Moscow", – commented Yevgeny Mikhailov, General Director of GUP "Mosgortrans».
Museum "Moscow Transport" is holding a rich collection of old vehicles including cars, trucks, public transport and special equipment. Dozens of legendary buses and trolleybuses represent public transport among them were the first Moscow bus ZIS-8, the famous ZIL-158, and LiAZ-677, one of the most popular bus of the XX century in Eurasia.
